Professional Development Institute, May 29 and 30, 2009

Professional Development Institute:

The second annual Center for Psychological Studies Professional Development Institute is scheduled for May 29 and 30, 2009. The Professional Development Institute is a conference designed to cover topics relevant to practicum students as well as those preparing to begin practicum. In a conference-style program students will attend sessions on important concepts necessary for beginning clinicians offered by faculty and other community experts. This is a perfect opportunity to learn (or review) those very important issues that make beginning therapists anxious about client care.

Topics will include evaluation of lethality and dangerousness, abuse reporting, substance abuse screening, group therapy basics, documentation/charting, working with families, psychopharmacology, and preparation for professional career/licensure,
