Hot Topics in Psychology Lecture to Discuss Neuropsychology

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences and the Center for Psychological Studies (CPS) at NSU will continue the Hot Topics in Psychology lecture series on Mar. 18 from 12-1 p.m., in the Carl DeSantis Building, room 3032/3034. The event will include a discussion on neuropsychology, led by Mercedes Fernandez, Ph.D., associate professor in the college’s Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Charles Golden, Ph.D., coordinator of the CPS neuropsychology program and director of the center's neuropsychology practicum.

Fernandez will present "Neuropsychological Test Performance in Monolinguals Compared to Bilinguals: Advantages and Disadvantages of Speaking Two Languages."

Hot Topics is a free brown-bag lecture series. Those attending are encouraged to bring their lunches to the event, providing their own "food for thought." The series enables students to gain a first-hand perspective of research in specific areas of psychology and also serves to open up potential scholarship collaboration among students and NSU faculty members, as exemplified by this lecture.
